PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how STARFALL ("we", "us", "the game") handles information when you play STARFALL via the web at starfall.id, the installed PWA, or any future Android/iOS app version.

1. Data We DO NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or address.
• We do not ask you to sign up or create an account.
• We do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing.
• We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The game stores the following in your browser's localStorage — never transmitted to any server:

• Your high score, achievements, total coins, and unlocked ships
• Tutorial completion status
• Daily-login streak counter
• Game settings (audio volume, control preferences)
• Personal best score history (top 50 entries)

You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser data for starfall.id.

3. Anonymous Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate gameplay patterns. Data collected:

• Country/region (city-level only, IP anonymized)
• Device type (mobile/desktop), browser, screen size
• Anonymous game events: when you start a game, reach a wave, share a score, etc.
• Approximate session duration

Analytics data is aggregated and used solely to improve gameplay balance and identify bugs. IP addresses are anonymized before storage in compliance with EU GDPR.

4. Global Leaderboard (Optional Online Feature)

STARFALL includes an optional global leaderboard. When you submit a score, the game transmits the following to our leaderboard server (Supabase):

• The display name you choose in-game (a nickname only — not your real name, email, or any contact detail)
• Your score, the wave you reached, and the difficulty played

This data is shown publicly on the in-game leaderboard so players can compare scores. We do not link it to your identity, device, or any personal information. If you do not set a display name or do not reach a qualifying score, nothing is submitted. To request removal of a leaderboard entry, contact us at the email below.

5. Service Worker (Offline Play)

The game registers a Service Worker to cache assets so it works offline. This stores game files (HTML, images, fonts) locally on your device but transmits no personal data.

6. Advertising (Future Feature)

If/when we add advertising via Google AdMob, this policy will be updated. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve relevant ads. Users will be able to opt out via device settings.

7. In-App Purchases (Future Feature)

Currently, STARFALL is free with no in-app purchases. If we add cosmetic purchases in the future, payments will be processed by Google Play / Apple App Store, and we will receive only anonymized transaction confirmations.

8. Children's Privacy

STARFALL is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the game's anonymous analytics, please contact us and we will investigate.

8. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA)

• Access: All your game data is on your device. Open browser DevTools → Application → Local Storage to view.
• Delete: Clear browser site data for starfall.id to erase all local game data.
• Opt out of analytics: Use a privacy-focused browser, install Google Analytics Opt-out, or block third-party scripts.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as new features are added (such as advertising or in-app purchases). The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of STARFALL after changes constitutes acceptance.
